DIRECTIONS

Spray air fryer basket with olive oil spray.

Lightly season wings with salt, pepper, and ground ginger and place in the air fryer basket. Toss wings halfway through cooking.

400°F • 12 mins

Meanwhile, prepare the glaze by placing pineapple, tamari, ginger, and garlic in a food processor. Add 1 tablespoon of pineapple juice or as much as needed to process and process until smooth. Stir in red pepper flakes. If you prefer a sweeter glaze, sweeten with honey to taste.

Transfer 1/3 of the glaze to a separate bowl (to prevent cross-contamination) and brush that on the tops of the wings before air frying a few minutes longer, or until the internal temperature of the thickest wing reaches 165°F.

400°F • 4–6 mins

Toss cooked wings in the remaining 2/3 of the glaze before serving.

Air Fryer Advice: For the crispiest wings in the air fryer, pat dry with paper towels and lightly season with 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder as you add the salt, pepper, and ground ginger. The baking powder actually promotes browning in chicken skin.
