Cinnamon Glazed Nuts

INGREDIENTS

2 1/2 tablespoons light brown sugar

1 tablespoon egg whites

3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch salt

1 cup raw almonds, or 1 1/4 cup raw walnuts, or 1 1/4 cup raw pecans

DIRECTIONS

1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together brown sugar, egg whites, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt.

2. Fold almonds into the sugar mixture. Let rest 1 minute before folding again to ensure the almonds are fully coated. Transfer to the air fryer basket.

3. Lightly shake the basket ever 3 minutes as the almonds cook.

325° air fry 8-10 mins

4. Almonds are done when they smell toasted and the sugar and egg white coating looks crisp. For the best texture, transfer to a bowl and let cool 10 minutes, as the coating gets crunchier as it cools. Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.


Mona’s Tips: This is a great “last minute” dessert that can be made with baking walnuts, pecans or almonds from the pantry and only a few other pantry staples!
